Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G

Mutual of Omaha Medicare Supplement Plan G is one of the ten standardized plans that provide supplemental insurance coverage to help pay the 20% not paid by Original Medicare. These out-of-pocket costs usually include copays, coinsurance, and insurance premiums.

Medicare Supplement plans are called Medigap plans because their purpose is to fill in the gaps left when Original Medicare pays 80% of Medicare-approved hospital and medical expenses.

Those who were enrolled in a Plan F Medigap insurance policy prior to January 1, 2020, can keep the plan. Anyone who became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020 but has not yet enrolled may still be able to get Medicare Supplement Plan F.

For Medicare beneficiaries enrolling after January 1, 2020, Part G offers the most comprehensive insurance coverage. Everything is covered except the Part B deductible. Part G covers Medicare Part B Excess charges. It is currently the most popular Medicare Supplement insurance plan.

Medigap Plan N is similar to Medigap Part G in that it covers the Part B excess charges. It offers lower monthly premiums in exchange for $20.00 copays on doctor visits and a $50.00 copay on Emergency Room visits.
